The engraved display version of Borges
Borges Open is an engraved, extra elegant and impactful display font set, part of the Borges type family. The four Borges Open styles have been carefully designed to offer specific impressions in titling, headings, logos and other settings where you need flair. The Light version is the original style: classy, balanced, serene. It was prized by Matthew Carter at the Morisawa Awards in Japan. The other three styles were added later. The Regular weight was designed to offer an epigraphic feel, as if it had been carved in stone, balancing light and shadow in equal proportions. The Bold has a larger shadow, giving it more power without being too black or too wide. And the Black style is the strongest choice when you need impact and refinement combined. The Borges type family pays homage to the fantastic work of writer Jorge Luis Borges. His writing technique, that of a meticulous and tireless goldsmith, in relentless pursuit of the perfect word, suggested a clean, economical though elegant letterform.
